Amy grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 1998.  During her time as a student, she served as a notes and comments editor on the University of Florida Law Review.  Amy joined the firm following graduation from law school and has since become a partner in the firm's litigation department.

Business litigator and advisor

Amy has experience litigating various types of business disputes, including contract, shareholder, and partnership disputes, as well as real estate, construction, and insurance coverage cases.

Amy has prosecuted appeals and has argued before the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Florida Second District Court of Appeals.  Amy also has experience helping business clients with creditors' rights issues, including commercial foreclosures, navigating bankruptcies, and advising clients on various collection methods and procedures.

In addition, Amy devotes a portion of her practice to employment law, not only litigating employment disputes, including EEOC administrative claims, but also advising employers on avoiding such claims before a termination or dispute occurs.  Amy also has extensive experience with enforcement of non-competition agreements.

Efficient dispute resolution

Amy embraces the philosophy of the firm by seeking to resolve disputes in the most efficient manner possible with an emphasis on achieving the desired results with the least amount of expense and upset to the clients' business.  She understands that businesses and business people generally would prefer to run a profitable business rather than spending time and money in litigation, but that sometimes aggressive litigation is necessary.  Amy seeks to understand her clients' business and advise each client of all available options, including dispute resolution opportunities, always keeping her clients' best interest at the forefront of every case.

Amy lives in Seminole Heights and is active in her neighborhood association and other local activities.  Amy also supports a number of charitable organizations, including the Childhood & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation.
