Sara is a partner at Barnett Bolt. She is also a certified public accountant. Sara's practice is primarily dedicated to estate planning, tax planning, estate and trust administration, as well as general business and corporate matters.
Sara counsels individuals and families in estate planning matters, including income, estate and gift tax planning, business succession planning, and prenuptial and postnuptial planning. She is experienced in drafting complex trusts, wills, and other estate planning instruments.
Estates, trusts, commercial agreements
Sara assists families with disabled children or relatives and prepares special needs trusts. Sara represents family members and professional fiduciaries in the administration of estates and trusts, including post mortem planning and preparation of estate tax returns. She represents clients with respect to IRS audits and examinations, specifically federal estate tax audits.
As part of her business practice, Sara assists clients with commercial agreements, such as supply and service agreements, operating agreements, and shareholder agreements. She also represents clients with respect to stock and asset sales and acquisitions.
The practice of law is Sara's second career. Prior to earning her law degrees and joining the firm, Sara was a store manager and employee of a major electronics retailer for over 14 years. Sara's experience in retail management gives her a unique and informed perspective with respect to the needs of her business clients.
